Digitalized Disaster: Data Visualization

Digitalized Disaster is a visual representation of all the earthquakes that have happened in the last 5 decades. It is a projected processing sketch of each earthquake spread out on the latitude axis with the depth and the magnitude represented by the length and width, respectively, with a wave overlaying the top points which visualizes the audio of a storm.

It is aimed to be a relaxing visual and auditory experience, therefore it is not overly active and has a calming soundtrack. The pulsating components are meditative and represents the extent of the earthquakes in a  minimalistic approach. Spectators should be fixated, yet slightly overwhelmed, by the shear size and the repetitive nature of this piece. It creates a sensory experience without physical interaction.
